Why roof frames fail
Most roofs are built on a wooden framework that slowly degrades over time. Roof frames flex through expansion and contraction, and are directly affected by sunshine, wind and rain. A loose or rotting framework puts constant pressure on the roof coverings, and as it expands and contracts it slowly works itself loose.
Roof timbers are almost always made from pine, and pine has a life span of roughly 65 years under a roof. Many Johannesburg roofs are getting close to that.
Structural carpentry is our background
Because we understand how an ever-flexing framework behaves, we are the right people for the repair. We specialise in replacing roof timbers, and we know how to do it in a safe and economical way.
“The frame is the most important part of the roof.”
