Business roofs in Strijdom Park
Strijdom Park is a commercial and light industrial area in Randburg, between the N1 Western Bypass and Malibongwe Drive. It has a large motor sales and repair industry, and many smaller businesses that serve the whole of northern Johannesburg. Very few people live here: the 2011 census counted only a few hundred residents.
Big, low-pitched metal roofs have their own problems. Fixings work loose, sheets rust around them, and box gutters fill with debris and overflow inside the building. Clear roof sheets and roof vents also age faster than the sheets around them.
A leak over stock, a workshop floor or electrical equipment costs far more than the repair. We find the cause, replace only the sheets that need it, and tell you honestly how much life the rest of the roof has left.
Worth checking on roofs like these
- Rust around screws and laps on metal sheets
- Box gutters that overflow into the building in heavy rain
- Clear roof sheets that have yellowed or cracked
- Flashings along walls and parapets
- Water marks on stock, walls or the floor after rain
