Roofs in Fourways estates and complexes
Fourways takes its name from the four-way stop where William Nicol Drive met Witkoppen Road, on what used to be farmland. Today it is a group of suburbs and security estates, among them Cedar Lakes, Fourways Gardens and Dainfern, and it has grown quickly.
Newer roofs are not maintenance-free. Sealants and flashings age, tiles crack when people walk on them (for example to fit solar panels or satellite dishes), and gutters fill up. In an estate, a problem on one roof can be a sign of the same problem on neighbouring roofs built at the same time.
In a security estate, the homeowners’ association often has rules about roof colours, materials and when contractors may work. Tell us the rules when you book and we will work within them.
Worth checking on roofs like these
- Cracked tiles and unsealed brackets after solar or satellite installations
- Flashings and sealants around skylights, chimneys and parapets
- Blocked gutters and downpipes
- Leaks where patios and extensions were added after the house was built
- Water marks on ceilings after heavy rain
